Prunella vulgaris is a wildflower plant with many medicinal properties. Prunella vulgaris has anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties and it is used to treat herpes, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Since ancient times, Prunella vulgaris has been revered for its healing properties.

The main components of the whole plant are:  Ursolic acid, Oleanolic acid, Glycoside of oleanolic acid, Rutin, Hyperoside, Caffeic acid, Vitamins C and D, Carotene, Tannin, Alkaloids, Camphor, Fenchone.

The young leaves and stems of Prunella vulgaris can be eaten raw in salads, the plant as a whole can be boiled and eaten as a leaf vegetable, and the aerial parts of the plant can be powdered and brewed in a cold infusion to make a beverage.

Some possible side effects of self-heal include: Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headaches.
