Pecan trees (Carya illinoinensis) in Kashmir

Pecan trees Kashmir
Pecan trees (Carya illinoinensis) are large deciduous trees that can
grow to be 70–100 feet tall and 6 feet in trunk diameter.
They are native to the eastern  and central United States,
south, and Mexico.

Pecan trees are members of the walnut family (Juglandaceae).
They have deeply furrowed bark, compound leaves with 9–17
finely toothed leaflets, and a broad canopy of lush green leaves.

Pecan trees grow best in both warmer & temperate climates,
particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttrakhand,
Himachal pardesh and North-East states

They like a lot of water, with young trees needing 10 to
15 gallons of water per week.

Starting with a seedling has much better odds than starting
with your own seed, but this is only a good idea
if you're gifted in grafting. After grafting,
you could have pecans within 4-6 years.
