Is kiwi a berry or fruit?

Kiwifruit, despite its name and appearance, is botanically classified as a berry. It is the fruit of several species of woody vines in the genus Actinidia. While commonly called "kiwi fruit" or "kiwi," it's distinct from "kiwi berries," which are also in the Actinidia genus but are smaller and have a smooth skin.
